There are lots of little tactics that I’ve collected over the past year that I thought were great ways to provide a remarkable experience to guests at our future tasting room. Hospitality is king in the wine industry and any way to make a guest remember their visit to your ...

Mapping Killer App For Wine 2.0? Bookmark this Blog/Forum Post
I’ve been thinking quite a bit about the components of a successful Wine 2.0 mashup since my post last week. In looking at a general listing of all tech mashups , I found that most of them had some form of mapping involved. When drilling into the 36 food related mashups , nearly all of them had Google or Yahoo maps. Hmm, this gives me an idea or two...

Scrugy, The 800 pound Gorilla of Wine 2.0 sites? Bookmark this Blog/Forum Post
One of the Wine 2.0 sites I’ve been checking out for a few weeks is the oddly named Scrugy (S-”cru”-gy, get it? Me neither). Naming aside, it is one of these new breed of sites that mashes up blog aggregation, wine search, tasting notes, winery directory and a bunch more stuff into an information ... content. Overall I think Scrugy is a good attempt at a Wine 2.0 mashup but it has a ways to go...

Then read this column by Tim Elliott (from Winecast). The real question is, what will Wine 3.0 look like? I’m sure it will be mind-blowing. Technorati Tags: Wine , Web 2.0 , Wine 2.0...

This one’s ah fun one! Beau over at Basic Juice has to come up with a great, and innovative, theme for the next edition of, the now infamous, WBW wine blogging web event. Rather than being restricted to drink a bottle made with this grapes from that region and costsso many dollars, he's turned this WBW thing into an interactive web escapade, he's given us a list of regions to choose from...

Blog River or à la Carte? Bookmark this Blog/Forum Post
I’ve been using a couple “Wine 2.0 ” services for the past few weeks and really like the river of wine blog news these provide. I’ve discovered a few new blogs along the way and enjoy seeing how some stories ripple through the wine blogosphere. I’m almost ready to convert 100% off the à la carte blog subscription model but I think I’ll wait until these sites are a bit more mature. To get a taste...
