Tasting Note Builder

Welcome to the Scrügy tasting note builder. Construct your tasting note here and we'll take care of formatting it using the hReview microformat and even post it directly to your blog. If you don't have a blog, you can still copy the finished tasting note to your clipboard and paste it into a web page or to your favorite wine community site.

To get started, tell us about the wine you're tasting. If you're not sure of the exact spelling of a certain field, just start typing a few characters and Scrügy will display a list of similar values for you to choose from. The more you type, the more precise the matches will become. If Scrügy can't find what you're looking for, just type in the value and we'll use it anyway. In addition to the required fields (indicated with bold labels), you must also specify the varietal(s), wine classification, vineyard, or label designation for the wine. If the wine is a blend and you know the varietals, separate each varietal with a comma in the Varietals field.

This is your chance to talk about the wine. The summary field can just be the name of the wine or you could use it to convey an overall perception of the wine. The description is where you get into the details of what you like or dislike about the wine, what you'd pair with the wine, where you tasted it, and so on. Use the tags field to list one or more keywords about the wine such as tasting descriptors.

Use the score field to convey an overall impression of the wine. A five star system is provided but you can also enter a fraction or use the 100 point scale conversion calculator to set the right score. Finally, be sure to indicate when you tasted the wine, how much you paid (or the retail value), and the size.
