2005 Girasole Vineyards Sangiovese

Reviewed by on Saturday, December 1, 2007 on Wine Reviews from WineLog.net

Medium ruby in color with bright aromas of blackcherry, raspberry, and red plum. This wine has a zesty crisp acidity that showcases the bright red fruit. The longer, cooler fermentation than most red wines allows the fruit to come to the forefront. No oak also preserves the fruit flavors. Nice medium stylish Sangiovese that is not over the top, but perfectly balanced for easy drinking or pairing with a wide variety of foods. (This is the grape that the Italians blend with other varietals to make their popular Chianti.)
